Since New Year's now is upon us in a couple of days I thought I

would talk about new beginnings. That's sort of a funny statement is and as though

we could have old beginnings. But I love that we get so many fresh starts, a new day, a new week, a new month, a new year.

His mercies are also new every morning.

Lamentations 3, 22 through 24.

Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed because his compassion's fail not.

They are new every morning.

Great is your faithfulness.

The Lord is my portion, says my soul.

Therefore I hope in him.

This is such a wonderful set of verses.

Each day we have new mercies in which to walk.

Every day of every year his compassion's are new.

God's mercies have kept us alive this far and they never fail.

We have his tender compassion every morning.

He is a definition of faithfulness. He does not

waiver, he does not change, he will never leave us or forsake us. Second

Timothy 212 says if we are faithless he remains faithful he cannot deny

himself we may drift off away from the Lord and be faithless but he is our rock and our Redeemer. Our sinfulness and foolishness does not

affect his faithfulness. His character is unchanging. So what does this have to do with the new year? Well I know we all have a desire to
