"I'm really trying to be good" "How do you stay so skinny working in a bakery? "I've noticed your eating habits" "Wow, you're really indulging today!" "You've gained weight, but you look healthy"  "No thanks, I need to detox from this weekend." "I'm trying to lose another 20" "We don't need lunch since were going out to dinner" Etc etc etc Even well-intentioned comments like, "have you lost weight, what's your secret?" can be super triggering. Man, sugar is poison. I haven't touched it in months and I honestly feel so much better, right? You get the point. I'm sure that you have found yourself in the middle of a diet culture convo at one point or another. And maybe you've even been the one who has said some of these types of comments, but you're starting to realize how much this can actually impact your mental health, right? Diet culture talk increases our stress and

anxiety and our feelings of inadequacy. It perpetuates negative body image. It can absolutely impact

our relationship with food. And it definitely puts a strain on your relationships because

1:57.4

people can feel judged and criticized based on what we say about our own bodies and our own food choices and vice versa.
