Can you tell us a little bit about where you're from, your training, and what led you to this career?

Sure.

I grew up in suburban Philadelphia, and when I was a junior in high school, my father learned about the Penn State Jefferson

five-year cooperative medical program, which was a way of getting both your undergraduate and MD degree in five years and

suggested that while I was applying to college, I should apply to that program.

Being a junior in college, I didn't really know much of anything about anything at that point in time so it sounded like a good idea and I applied to it and was subsequently accepted.

So I spent a 12 month year at Penn State beginning in June after I graduated from high school through the end of the next summer going to undergraduate school and taking the pre-med requirements and then I started medical school at

Jefferson and the summer between my first and second year of medical school I went back to

Penn State and did the additional credits I needed to get my degree.

So I had an accelerated early career.
