Summary

Join John Dehlin and YouTubers Jordan and McKay (@jordanmckay) to discuss the recent arrest of Mormon YouTube Mom Ruby Franke of "8 Passengers" fame and Mormon therapist Jodi Hildebrandt on child abuse charges. We will be discussing the history of the Franke family and the 8 Passengers YouTube channel, as well as the super-controversial work of Jodi Hildebrandt as a Mormon therapist focusing on "sexual addiction" (i.e. masturbation), marriage counseling, and parenting. a collaboration with the amazing Jordan and McKay YouTube channel. We are here today to talk about

0:13.8

kind of some breaking news if you can call that a day or two after the story actually breaks

0:19.8

for those who don't know famous Utah Mormon YouTubers, the Frankie family have gotten themselves

0:27.8

into trouble along with a Mormon therapist named Jody Hildbrett, but basically for those who have

1:28.2

several years ago, and I'll be talking about that as well. And together they started, you know,

1:33.6

a Facebook group and a YouTube video channel and Instagram video talking about parenting to a

1:39.2

largely Mormon audience, and then lo and behold just a few days ago, Ruby and Jody were arrested

1:47.7

in St. George around St. George, Utah, Southern Utah, on abuse charges after one of their

1:54.5

mountainous children was found begging for, if I as I understand it, food and water with duct tape

2:02.0

having been wrapped around their their wrists and ankles, super disturbing dark story,

2:08.3

and one that we're going to be talking about today within a Mormon lens, because there's

2:13.2

plenty of news stories out there to talk about this story in particular, but we on Mormon stories,
