in your head is this nagging voice saying, hey, you got a lot of stuff to do. You got to fold the laundry.

You got to clean the kitchen. Look at all the toys on the floor. Look at the piles of stuff on the kitchen counter. All you're seeing is your to-do list.

It's almost like your body is there, but your brain is elsewhere.

I know I've experienced this and it's really frustrating because it pulls you from the present

And basically I would go throughout my day at home or any time at home before and after I got

home from work

and feel like I don't even know what happened. I was there with my kids, but my mind wasn't.

And so it reduced my connection. It reduced my presence. And ultimately, that was really

frustrating for me as a mom and just as a human being. I think a lot of us strive for presence but clutter and even

just expected mess and daily chores can really reduce that and pull us out of that moment.

And I actually recently shared this sentiment on Instagram and was shocked by how many people

reached out to me and said that they feel the same way, that they in some capacity feel compelled

to constantly be doing chores. And so I was like, oh, this is a thing. We need to talk about this.
