Summary

In Session 18, Manny Rodriguez, Shannon Biagi, and Dan Sundberg join me to discuss their OBM Applied! book series. In this episode we cover the following topics: Why they wrote OBM Applied! Who the intended reader is What sort of outcome a reader can expect The Florida Institute of Technology OBM Certificate program In addition to these, we talk quite a bit about the process of writing itself, which can be applicable to not only writing books, but I would imagine finishing theses and dissertations as well. Shannon, Manny, and Dan were also generous enough to provide a cheat sheet on staying on-task and productive during the writing process. Show notes and the cheat sheet are at www.behavioralobservations.com/Session-18

0:59.8

And so they talk about kind of why they wrote the book, the intended audience, and most importantly, what sort of outcome one can expect by reading the book and applying its strategies and tactics. We also talk a lot

1:12.6

about the writing process, and these guys were kind enough to do two things. One is, after the

1:16.5

interview, Mani sent me kind of a bullet list or a cheat sheet, if you will, think of it as a

1:23.7

guide to maintaining productivity throughout the writing process, especially in the context of

1:31.2

writing something with multiple authors. So they kind of gave us a little guide about how to,

1:36.6

you know, not procrastinate and to, you know, get in the writing mode, if you will. So there's

1:42.7

lots of cool stuff like that for anyone who's contemplating

1:45.1

writing a book or trying to finish a dissertation or thesis and things like that. Another thing that

1:51.2

I want to draw your attention to as well is these guys have generously discounted the book from now

1:58.6

until the end of the 2016 calendar year.

2:09.4

So if you want to pick up the book, you can go to lulu.com and put OBM applied into the little search bar and all their stuff should come up.
