I'm Martin Lee, and I go through every EV story, so you don't have to.

We'll start with some good news for Ford, and the Kentucky battery plant is to open early.

Construction is ongoing for Ford's Blue Oval City in Tennessee

and Blue Oval Battery Park in Kentucky. Well, Blue Oval City will feature an EV and battery production

facility. That's going to be managed by Blue Oval SK, a joint venture between Ford and the South

Koreans. While trial operations at Blue Oval City began this summer,

production at Blue Oval SK Battery Park is now set to start sooner than initially projected.

Blue Oval SK Battery Park was originally expected to begin operations in mid-20205,

but Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announcing production will begin in the first quarter of 2025. The facility

has two battery plants initially only one in use, providing jobs for 5,000, sorry, 2,500 people,

but demand for 4 EVs currently too low, which means the other plant will be idle for now.

Moving on, and Ford has filed a patent for an EV with extended range,

all the rage in China, EREVs, possibly for an upcoming Ford model.

The patent was submitted in May, 2023, published last week.

As interest in fully electric vehicles in China has shifted a little bit towards e-reves,

carmakers are considering hybrids.

The extended range electric vehicle concept is gaining traction.
