Summary

Back in Episode 13, I shared with you that I’m a bit of a stalker.  Jill Coleman is someone I’ve been stalking for a couple years now.  Her story about the evolution of her relationship with food is something I relate to 100%.     As I’ve taken a gentler approach with food in recent years, I have been so inspired by everything Jill has to say.  In fact, I’ve adopted many of her philosophies (especially when it comes to WINE – can I get an AMEN?!?)   If you struggle with food at all, you will learn a ton today!   Today Jill shares with us: How to finally find and manage moderation in your diet (#moderation365) The use of pre-emptive cheats to ward off binging and over the top indulgences (enter: wine!) The truth about food scarcity and how it messes with your head How to eat within reason and feely fully satisfied everyday (#satisfactionfactor) How to recover and be a little more kind to yourself when you “fall off the wagon”     Links: To read more fully about Jill and her philosophies about food, head over to: www.JillFit.com     On May 3rd, Jill will be launching her TreadLift program here: www.TreadLift.com   For more Shameless Mom info on “Bad” Food Days, check out Episode 03.   Learn more about your ad choices. with Jill Coleman of Jill Fit. Jill began her fitness career at the age of 15 with a job in the

0:34.3

fitness center nursery so she could take step aerobics classes for free.

0:38.3

She shortly after that started lifting weights and saw her body magically change with

0:42.3

resistance training.

0:43.9

By the time she was 24, she was doing her first figure competition and she won her first show

0:48.9

and found herself hooked.

0:50.6

She was addicted to the process and addicted to the high of seeing if she could be better

0:53.7

than everyone else. But unfortunately, she also became addicted to being in show shape, which started

0:59.6

to seriously mess with her head after a while. After a few years, her diets and meal plans

1:04.3

simply stopped working. Her metabolism became unresponsive. She kept falling off the wagon

1:09.2

and she felt this overall sense of poor discipline,

1:12.2

laziness and weakness. She also felt shame that she couldn't stick with the programs that she was

1:16.0

giving her own clients and embarrassed that she was getting fat in her off season when she felt

1:20.8

like the normal standard was to stay fit, lean, and healthy year round. So eventually she gave up the mind

1:26.7

games and stopped spinning her wheels around dieting.

1:29.6

She threw her hands up and decided that she needed to find a new, healthier way.
