Hello Alice. Hey Brett, how are you? I'm doing great, and Alice. This is an exciting day for a couple reasons.

You know, we just make it up as we go along, but it seems like you actually have some experience, so I think this will be a podcast that people can actually take something away from.

Now people know who we are, so why don't you go ahead and introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your background.

Okay, Cheryl McCollum, I'm a native from Atlanta. I married my hospital sweetheart.

We have two children that are just pure fun and you know, never been a minute trouble.

And I've been in criminal justice for a really long time in one way or the other.

And right now I'm an active crime scene investigator for Metro Atlanta police department, but I also run the Colt case investigative research institute, which is a nonprofit where we assist law enforcement and families with action plans on how to actually solve cold cases.

Well, here's a little connection. I actually spent my childhood in Atlanta, but back when I lived there, it was a lot more remote.

I lived on a horse farm that's apparently now a strip mall.

Yeah, well, we used to have a lot more what I would consider like a rural part of Metro Atlanta, so it is definitely grown no doubt.

Absolutely. Can you tell us a little bit more about this cold case investigative research institute? What is it affiliated with?

I used to teach college when my children were babies because I could teach on choosing Thursdays.
