0:25.6	Our guest today is Ambassador Kelly Curry. She was appointed Ambassador at Large for Global Women's Issues by President Trump in 2019.
0:32.6	She served simultaneously as the U.S. Representative at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
0:40.0	Prior to her appointment, she led the Department of State's Office of Global Criminal Justice
0:44.6	and served under Ambassador Nikki Haley as the United States representative to the UN Economic and Social Council and representative to the UN General Assembly.
0:56.4	One question that Aaron and I had right away when we thought about interviewing her was,
1:01.0	what are the global women's issues?
1:03.7	What is facing women around the world?
1:06.7	And come to find out it's not abortion rights.
1:09.4	Surprise.
1:10.7	But she unpacks all the things that the women around the world are facing, and it's hard to even imagine in America the things that we take for granted.
1:20.6	The other thing that is interesting about the ambassador is that she is a southern girl.
1:25.5	So you'll hear that sweet accent from her. And you might even hear mine thicken a little bit because I'm also from the South. And so when we get to, when I get together with Southern sisters, it comes out just a little bit. So I hope you enjoy. Ambassador Kelly Curry, thank you so much for being on our podcast.
