Kelly. Hi, this is Dave.

And this is John.

And welcome to episode 18 of Geek's Guides of the Galaxy.

Today we'll be interviewing Eric Garcia,

author of the novels Anonymous Rex, Match Stick Men,

and The Repossession Mambo.

Match Stick Men was adapted into a movie with Nicholas Cage and Sam Rockwell.

And Repossession Mambo was adapted by Eric himself into the recent movie Repo Men,

starring Jude Law and Forest Whitaker as two

employees for a sinister corporation that gives people artificial organs, but then signs

them up to deals they can't possibly afford. and when people fall behind on their

payments the repo men come and violently repossess your organs leaving you to

die. Yeah that's the one thing I thought that wasn't too realistic about the movie because you know

corporations would never do anything like that.

Now it's kind of funny how sort of topical the movie is even though it was

conceived of as we'll hear you know years and years and years ago and has been in development for for quite a while but I guess you know when you write about an evil corporation, it's just a timeless theme.
