We'll start with news of Volkswagen's comeback plan in China, having recently lost their number

one status to rival BYD.

Recently on the podcast, I told you, well, last year about their big investment and their

partnership with X-Pung.

So we can now see some of the fruits of that partnership.

And Volkswagen are creating a new VEV architecture, dubbed the C-EA, China Electrical Architecture,

aimed at making EVs more affordable, at least to begin with in China, but this tech

could be seen elsewhere if it's

successful. The CEA is set to be employed in VW-branded EVs developed in China starting in

2026. This new platform is expected to cut development costs by 40% compared to VW's German

developed platforms like the MEV platform, which their ID cars sit upon,

primarily by reducing the number of control units.

The CEA design features a central computer and a zonal structure that simplifies the vehicle's electronic systems,

potentially reducing the electronic control units by up to 30%. Well, VW plans to
