0:13.9	Enjoy the show. You know, you know, I'm in southeastern U.S. and I'm a bit of an avid cyclist. I have been my whole life. It's my preferred method of transportation. I also live in a town that is known for its ever-expanding
0:56.2	network of bike paths, which are often used by pedestrians as well. The town has even won some
1:03.6	awards for them over the years. I'm also an Iraq veteran. This may explain something that

1:18.1	The summers where I live tend to be quite humid, but otherwise pleasant, so one gorgeous August day off from work, I decided to go for a ride. I didn't have a specific end destination in
1:24.9	mind, but I got this idea to ride along the southbound trail that I didn't go through
1:31.4	very often. There are enough traffic lights along that section, so it should have been a
1:38.6	relatively safe ride. It also goes along the border of a rather popular city park.
1:45.7	I figured there'd be plenty of people there, especially on such a nice day.
1:51.2	Turns out, I was only sort of right about that.
1:55.7	About 20 minutes or so into my otherwise smooth ride,
1:59.4	I came up to a couple of bins in the path, not long before the
2:03.6	park. A few people were jogging or walking their dogs, and one or two people were walking by themselves,
2:12.3	nothing too unusual. The trails are paved and divided into two lanes, just like a regular road, and when you're on a bike, you're supposed to stay on the right-hand lane.
