right down to the present. War made the U.S. independent, kept it together, increased its

size, and established it as a global superpower. Understanding America's wars is essential for understanding American history.

a podcast in which we discuss American history through the lens of the most important battles of America's wars.

Thank you. host, James Early. Hello and welcome to Key Battles of American History.

I'm excited today to introduce a brand new season.

This is going to be season four.

Season one, if you recall, was World War I on film.

Season two was key battles of the Pacific War of World War II, and season three was the

Pacific War on film. Now we're going to be going back to another battle series. In fact, this

season will consist of all of the major wars between the Revolutionary

War and the Civil War. We're going to do a series on the War of 1812, then we'll do a series on

the Texas Revolution, and then we'll do a series on the Mexican-American War. And since we're

going to be on the War of 1812 for about the next 12, 13, 14, depends on how you count them.

Episodes, I'll just call this Key Battles of the War of 1812.

So, welcome to Key Battles of the War of 1812.
