We have Lauren Herman who is a multi-passion of SLP who turned a frustrating encounter with a radiologist into a research opportunity.

In addition to Ash, Lauren is a member of the Radiological Society of North America and

the American Interprofessional Healthcare Collaborative.

She loves connecting with other people and advocating for her work as SLPs.

And our next guest is Dr. Benjamin Mervac. He is an assistant professor of

radiology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.

Ben completed medical school, radiology residency, and a fellowship in

abdominal imaging at the University of Michigan before joining the faculty at

UNC in 2017. As an abdominal imager he has involved multiple times weekly with

fluoroscopic evaluation of the GI tract, including the interpretation of

modified barium solo studies.
