Yeah, okay, I have been actually hesitant to record this episode for a while because I guess, I don't know, I'm calling it something like breaking the rules or break the rules.

And I really don't want people to just

think that's licensed to be a dick. Right? I don't mean, I don't mean, I'm not going to sit here

and tell you today to break the rules and at the cost of other people's feelings, right? At the

expense of other people's feelings, at the expense of the song, at the expense of being

a good human being, right?

I just want to tell you today in the trajectory of my career what I have experienced in

terms of what I thought were things that I couldn't change,

that actually I could change.

The things that I thought were rules, fast and hard rules, that I thought of for so long,

that weren't actually rules at all. They were just other people's opinions.

So I want to help you today. If you are a bit of a rule follower, like I am, like firstborn,

like a bit of a rule follower, I want to encourage you to wonder about these things that you hang your hat on,

these rules about music, about bass playing, your career, right?

I want you to wonder if those are actually rules, if they're important to you, if they're

like your tenants, or if there's somebody else's, and if they're important to you, if they're like your tenants, or if there's somebody else's,

and if they're not actually real, right?
