This is a story of 3 people whose lives came together when they each followed their dreams to serve this country in the United States Coast Guard. At least one of them dreamed of doing so since childhood. When you join the armed forces, you never really know where in the world you might end up, but wherever that may be, at any given place, at any given time, people from all over the country, possibly from all over the world, cross paths. People from very different backgrounds...many different life experiences...they get randomly thrown together as they embark on their military careers. Relationships develop, bonds form...these people become your family - your brothers and sisters in arms. Today, we are going to take a look at one relationship that formed in the frigid tundra of Kodiak, Alaska...a place where both of these Coast Guardsmen had listed as the last place on earth they wanted to be stationed, yet there they were…and a close friendship was born of it. We are going to see what can happen when people are put together in often times tense and stressful situations, combined with the possibility of a lifelong struggle with mental health issues...in this 177th episode of Killafornia Dreaming...the tale of a Rape of the mind…
