0:07.0 | Can I thank the public and the media for the partnership in solving this matter? |
0:14.0 | Whilst New South Wales Police since 2015 has worked tirelessly, I recognise that this is an important and ongoing relationship, |
0:24.0 | not just to solving this crime, but many, many other crimes. |
0:29.0 | We spoke to the family of Lynette Dawson this morning, who was certainly relieved to hear this result. |
0:37.0 | And from their perspective, they have asked for some patients in terms of their confidentiality going forth. |
0:47.0 | Headly, do you think the power of your podcast will result in charges finally being laid? |
1:00.0 | Ultimately, that is entirely a decision for the Director of Public Prosecutions or his office. |
1:07.0 | Multiple times over the years, the prosecutors from the DPP have rejected the recommendations to prosecute this case. |
1:16.0 | And we hope that they will review again carefully and perhaps reach a different decision with the new evidence that has come in. |
1:25.0 | Hello and welcome to Real Crime Profile. This is Jim Clemente, retired FBI profiler, former New York City prosecutor and writer producer on CVS's criminal minds. |

2:00.0 | We really appreciate it. We're glad that you're enjoying our coverage. |
2:03.0 | And one thing I wanted to ask right away, there's been some questions on that Facebook page if because of the infamy of the podcast and how it's been covered in the media all over Australia, if Chris Dawson can actually get a fair jury trial, given that everybody has heard about it and may have made up their own minds, Jim, what do you think? |
2:24.0 | Well, that is an actual fact that people have heard about it and there are many very high profile notorious crimes and criminals that do get tried and they get a fair trial. |
2:39.0 | What what will happen is anybody who is on the jury pool will basically be asked whether or not they've heard about it in the media and whether or not they've formed an opinion. |
2:51.0 | If you've heard about it but haven't yet formed an opinion, you kept an open mind about it, then you could still be eligible to be a juror. |
2:59.0 | So it's literally going to be down to the judge and the prosecution and defense attorneys to ask and properly vet jurors. |
3:09.0 | One problem though is if jurors have heard all the information from the teachers pad and from real crime profile and from other sources in the media down there about the evidence that has been put together accumulated and discovered if they have and that's still not enough to give them enough information to make a decision. |
