Today we are going to be dealing with a very

important and sensitive topic. We're going to be dealing with

multi-generational child abuse within a Mormon context.

So what it's like to experience child abuse in this case from a man's point of view from a boys point of view

what it's like to experience child abuse in a Mormon context along with

we'll say harmful

sexual messages around shame and and worth and that sort of thing how that

plays into an adolescence and an adulthood

that's all going to be kind of part one of today's episode and then part two is going to be what happens when

you survive Mormonism

live the Mormon dream get married in the temple and then as a

abuse survivor yourself

one of your children experiences abuse within the Mormon context so that's the multi-generational abuse part

I'm hitting that hard from the start so that everybody knows to practice self-care

so that everyone knows we're going to be talking about very sensitive issues and it's timely

because in the past five to ten years

instances of Mormon child abuse and cover-ups of Mormon child abuse are rampant

just yesterday there was a ruling out of California where the Mormon Church was

implicated in a two billion dollar

child abuse verdict and
