What is there a moment?

Because every person, every, you know, civilian wants to know, is there a moment

when a president gets into office where someone like

you has to sit them down they just got elected someone like you has to sit them down

and go all right buddy here's what's going on the world yeah I

think so I mean I you know we're facing a number of challenges and opportunities

and a new president you know I think suddenly realizes that he's responsible for how we respond to

those challenges and opportunities. So I think you know of course as a National

Security Advisor you know that's kind of your job right your job you're the only

person in the foreign policy national security establishment who has the

president as his or her only client. So it's your job to help the president succeed in the area of foreign policy and national security.

And that job, you have to kind of be like a psychologist as well as a national security advisor,
