You are, man. I've been following you for years.

And Oscar is one of the main guys in the Berkeley faculty.

And you tour still, not just teach, but you need to play regularly as well.

And you've played with some of the, you know, some amazing, amazing stars.

But how did you actually like get into this racket in the first place?

Was it always base you into?

Did you come from a musical family?

Like what did you get into it?

All right. This is funny, what I'm going to say. I start playing bass in an acoustic guitar.

Because back in Peru with my brother Ramon, that is a guitar player, we used to play surf music.

Surf music, yeah.

You know the adventures? That's way, way,

long time ago. Yeah, so my brother used to play a first guitar and there was a

non-accompanied guitar and then I was designed to or you know punish to play the bass.

On an acoustic guitar but with the four strings. Yeah, well with the 16 beat but we didn't have, you know, we didn't have money at that time to buy instruments.

And in Paris, in Peru was very expensive to buy an instrument, so we have all acoustic guitars all the time.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

So then we started playing wipeout and walk, don't run, and, you know, Apache.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

So slowly we move on to more like American rock, like Santana.

So we did, we have a cover band that play Grand Funk.
