All right ladies and gentlemen, I am back in my natural layer which is to say I'm sitting

on the terrace of my apartment in Barcelona late afternoon beautiful sun coming in beautiful day

as usual in this city and I apologize for the delay but I know it's been a while since the last

episode which which was recorded in Cape Town so it's been kind of chaotic it's probably been 10 days

maybe two weeks since I posted that one and we flew up from Cape Town by way of Dubai landed in

Barcelona about a week ago and it's been pretty hectic since then went to the what's it called Guadalamo

Blase since Spanish the the storage storage place we'd rented and got all our crap out of there and

so we've been busy redistributing our crap in our apartment and dealing with leaking roofs and

faulty dishwasher is in all the various things that happen when you're away from an apartment for

a long time so that's been interesting it's been kind of surreal honestly to come back to this place

where we haven't been for five years and see how little has changed it's pretty much the same

plants growing on the terrace except for the weed of course go to the cafe it's the same guy behind

the counter making the the cortados and the cafes con leche every day and yeah it's just strange

to see how the world doesn't really give a shit whether you're here or not I guess that's the

bottom line there's a sort of assumption I think that we develop over time that somehow we're

engaging with the world in a way that's reciprocal and there's nothing like checking out for a while

and then coming back to show you how clearly false that is I remember the first time I felt that

when I was a kid we had moved from a house where it was sort of the house I felt I grew up in and

and I think it is because it's still the house that appears in my dreams although I lived in probably

15 to 20 different houses as I was growing up that's the one that I still remember so there was some

something congealed in my brain when I was living living in that house I lived there from the time I
