And I think the ascension shows us very clearly that heaven is our final destiny,

but that heaven is already here among us because Christ is among us.

The Lutheran Confessions make a distinction between things that are instituted by God's Word, divine law, if you will,

and things that are instituted by human agreement. It's an important distinction. So, for instance,

the local Christian congregation is instituted by God's divine Word, by divine law.

We are told to preach. We are given sacraments to administer, and that means that local congregation exists by divine right, if you will.
