Summary

Murph welcomes back another old friend and colleague, retired FBI Special Agent Dale Watson. Dale shares his journey from college to the U.S. Army, to joining the FBI. Working his way up through the ranks, Dale became involved in counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and crisis management. He participated in several high-profile investigations including bombings in Oklahoma City, Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, USS Cole in Yemen, U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the anthrax mailings, and the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the U.S. Dale reflects on the need for a proactive approach to terrorism prevention, and the resistance he faced in implementing changes. 0:50.1	He was involved in so many international incidents as well as domestic incidents.
0:54.5	I mean, the last thing we were talking about was the Oklahoma City bombing before we move on to the next one.
0:59.7	And during our little break here, Dale was telling me there's a couple more things that he wanted to point out to us.
1:03.8	And so I want to ask him to come back and let's revisit Oklahoma City bombing one more time and just fill us in on those things, Dale.
1:10.8	This is so interesting to hear from somebody who was actually there.
1:14.7	Yeah, it was a very stressful time.
1:17.3	We were all away from home 120, 150 miles, and we stayed in all the hotels that we could get
1:23.3	and did a great job.
1:26.4	There were a couple of points I wanted to make about the actual investigation of that.
1:30.5	The issue was where did they meet to mix up the bomb, the actual bomb?
1:35.8	And that occurred at Gary State Lake, which is Park, which is about 20 miles.
1:41.0	And I think I explained about that in episode one.
1:45.1	The interesting thing was that we needed probably some witnesses that could have verified
1:50.9	that the car was there and the same, or, of course, his truck was there at the same time
