I am your host, and if this is your first time here, this is a show where I interview artists of all kinds about the first experiences in their art form that led them to where they are today. This is episode 173. And my guest this week is Gem Seiao of the incredible Australian hardcore band Speed.

They put out an EP back in 2022 called Gang Called Speed on Flat Spot Records.

And just the attention and love that they've been getting these past couple years has been really cool to see.

Have a funny relationship with Gem where we ran into each other

and kind of reconnected at a festival, a hardcore festival that we played over the summer in Europe,

and just realized that we had toured together because he played in another band when Tushay last

toured Australia with turnover.

So his other band opened that.

And so we reconnected and it was really cool and that kind of led to this conversation.
