My friend Howard Fineman died this week. He had a long career as one of Washington's most respected political reporters and began his career at the Louisville Courier Journal. There, he was able to witness the rise of Mitch McConnell and learn what kind of politician he was. In this episode from 2019, we discuss what makes McConnell tick and Howard's career. Hey everybody, my friend Howard Feynman died a couple days ago after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Howard would laugh if I said he died after a cowardly battle with pancreatic cancer.

In fact, he did laugh when I ran it by him,

but I've chosen not to because he did face this horrible disease with great courage and

dignity, and it is a brutal disease. And to be truthful, Howard did lose his sense of humor

Howard started his journalism career with the Louisville Courier Journal. And as such, got something of an up-close look at Mitch McConnell,

funding for addressing the black lung and

bigger pensions for their widows. McConnell did nothing to help these miners who, again,

were dying from black lung because you see Mitch worked for the mine owners.
