Ashley Rinsberg. Welcome to the show, man. How you doing?

Fantastic. Yeah, I'm doing great, man. I'm all good.

I'm recording this from Las Vegas. It's my first time here.

Oh, my former home.

Oh, okay. Yes, I heard. So, okay. Tell people.

So let's jump right into that. Tell people a little bit about your background.

Yeah, it's been a bit of a, I tend to run, kind of moving around my entire life.

So, born in South Africa in the early 80s, my parents kind of absconded as fast as they

could to Philadelphia. From there we were into Vegas for five years in San Diego.

I took off a college in New York and after college I was working in San Francisco for the

Internet Archive, which has that very cool way back machine.

You know, if you want to find a website from 10 years ago.

So they do that in addition to lots of innovative stuff and one of those projects was what they

called was the Internet Book Mobile. It was the sort of the brainchild of the Internet

Archive's founder, Brewster Kales, a web pioneer. And he sent me to Egypt to kind of install

one of these things. I came back and I'm like, I don't want to stay in San Francisco anymore.

I want to like go out and see that crazy world because Egypt was pretty crazy, especially

right after 9-11, which is when it was. So I got a job on a, on a sailing boat as a deck
