As we speak, Vladimir Putin is being fated by his new best friend on the world stage,

the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

The two-day loving in Pyongyang is a very public demonstration of what is now being touted

as another step in the construction of a new security block to challenge the dominance of the

West. We'll be asking how worried should we be, and to help us answer that question,

we'll be talking to Roger Boyes, veteran foreign correspondent and the very distinguished

diplomatic editor of the London Times. The high-profile visit also confirms that North Korea

is now a very important ally in Russia's war with Ukraine. The process has been underway since last September

when Kim met Putin at the Vostoshne spaceport in Siberia and visited arms factories as well as

reviewing the Russian Navy at its Vladivostok base. The details of the deal arrived at were never

revealed, but since then the US says 11,000 container loads of North Korean munitions,

including ballistic missiles, have been sent to Russia and used on the Ukrainian front.

So can we expect more of the same in probably increased quantities in the future?

Yeah, it was a pretty weird spectacle. I don't know if you saw the welcome parades all on telly,

but it really was quite sort of surreal.
