In 2016, when Israel celebrated its 68th birthday, we released a big project called 68 and counting.

It's based on our latest live show, and it's a journey through Israeli history, all made

up of stories that took place on Independence Day in 10-year intervals from 1948 till today.

Last time, we started off with the radio broadcast of the Declaration of the State,

straight from the bathroom of the Tel Aviv Museum.

We then skipped a decade to 1958 and met Perz Shkalim, a new immigrant from Iran who came to Israel with a dream and with Persian rugs.

He's known in Israel as a carpetman. He's known as the carpetman.

Ten years later, we marched with Shimon Gillian

in the extravagant post-6-day war military parade

in the newly unified Jerusalem.
