Welcome to the Lord of the Rings lore cast, the show that explores the background of

Tolkien's amazing world from the very beginning.

So we're finally entering Lake Town.

And this feels like a grand journey at this point because of how slowly and intricately

we've been going through all of the contents in the book.

But it feels like something that we knew was going to happen.

Even if this is your first time reading through The Hobbit, you knew they were going to at least

get this far in their journey.

But you may not have expected, like most likely the dwarves here, the order of the sequence

of events.

I don't think they expected to be captured by elves. I don't think they expected to be waylaid in a magical forest and to have

come across things that would have been basically insurmountable without the help of Gandalf

and or Bilbo. And on top of that, I don't think that they expected to have to have conversations with the people

of Lake Town looking like homeless beggars.

And yet, they manage it pretty well.

When I engage with a story, like a novel or a movie or even a video game, I try to get in the

mind of the author.

And then from that perspective, get into the mind of the characters, the way that they

would have been looking at individual characters, especially important characters like

Thorin, what their expectations were, what their

plan was.

And we don't really get a detailed explanation of what Thorne expected to happen at this point
