So, Ray's answering the door. I'm going to do a quick introduction. This is Ray Turner that I'm talking to.

Ray was an instructor at the Arts Center College of Design when I went there.

So this interview is going to be a little bit different because we

kind of spent the first couple minutes just getting caught up again and normally I have a list of questions

and a game plan for the interview but Ray and I just started talking, so this episode of the

Savvy Painter podcast is going to be a little bit different.

For the past several years, Ray has been working on a series of portraits called

population. It's an amazing body of work. These portraits are painted on glass and

then when he shows them at a gallery or a museum he has specific colors called out and the

gallery paints swatches of color on the wall which is the background of the painting.

It shows through the glass.
