0:00.0 | Welcome back everybody to the dungeon master's block, the place where we focus on the dungeon master, the most important person of the game, the only person capable of playing God, killing characters, and lowering the egos of all the players at the table. I'm one of your host, Dungeon Master Chris. And I'm Dungeon Master Mitch. And we want to welcome you back to another episode of the Dungeon Master's Block. This one particularly today, we are going to be focusing on the start of a new series. We're going to call this series the Divine Spotlight series, where we as the dungeon masters of this podcast, we pick a couple of gods that we both really like. This week, it's Pelor and Oli Damara, and one god that we've created for our own pantheons with gods, which Mitch, we're going to be sharing one of yours today. |
0:56.0 | And which one is it? |
0:57.0 | Aribus. Erebus. Which you might recognize that name. We'll talk about it later on. Yeah, we'll talk about it a little bit. In a little while, we'll get to it. But first, like we always do in every single episode, we have some shout outs. shoutouts. So Mitch, you want to start us off with the first one? |
0:53.0 | Alright, so the first shout out that we have, another five star is entitled Great Resource, |
1:14.6 | and it's by Nate Hamm 44. |
1:16.6 | Nate Hamm says, I have been DMing on and off for about 20 years now. |
1:21.6 | Long time, that's awesome. |
1:22.6 | I think the Dungeon Masters block is quality stuff. |
1:26.6 | Everything they have talked about I have had to deal with over the years. I would even go as far as saying for a new DM, it is a must listen. In capital letters, must listen. Keep up the good word. Thank you, Nate Han 44. We appreciate those words. I appreciate it. I think we're a must listen. I think so. New and old. We actually listen to our own podcast. We do. Yeah. I like it. We're so wise. We gotta, you know, keep soaking it up. Or we're just very egotistical. One of the two things. Yeah. Awesome. All right. The next one comes from Cayenne, 12, three, four. It says great information. It's a five, another five-star review, so thank you for that. This is why we said. Yeah, right, right. So full of ourselves. Yeah, right. It says, really love the show. I was about to start a campaign when I stumbled onto the show. I'm now using the advice to help build a more interesting land. Well done. We like that. we like hearing that type of stuff. That's what we, that's why we started this podcast is because we want to help people |
2:20.8 | create the best possible lands, the best possible adventures, uh, and just be able to just stir |
2:26.4 | up creation within each DM. |
2:28.4 | That's what, that's what, like, I love about D&D is that it's a game that allows |
2:33.8 | everybody to be that creative and to create entire worlds. And like, you think about, like, how many, like, worlds have been created because somebody has, through D&D been like, like, I want to create this and, like, we, you know, we all fall in love with, like, Middle Earth and all these things that we know about. But there's so many worlds out there that are awesome because individuals are making them for their games and that only their players will ever experience. Yeah. That's why we love to hear from you guys and you guys like let us know through emails and stuff. We love to hear all your stories. But yeah, it's just such a great game. I was sharing with a friend of mine I went out to lunch with him the other day and i was saying that you know i didn't say that i played dungeons and dragons necessarily with them but i said yeah when i was in high school i just used to make up random stories like lord of the rings in my head to help me pass the time because there were some classes that i was super boreded and i was like what stories could i create in? And this is, Dungeons and Dragons became a perfect outlet as a Dungeon Master to finally get all of those stories out into the Dungeons and Dragons world. That's where I got a lot of my inspiration. Yeah, I, uh, Dungeons Dragons is a good outlet for that. I remember when I was growing up. Like, I'm the oldest out of all my brothers, |
3:41.7 | and I went, uh, Christmas just passed and I went home and I talked to my brothers and it's like, you remember when you guys were really little and I was like a teenager and I'd take you guys outside and we'd play and like, I'd let, we'd like play like Lord of the Rings type games and I'd like pretend to be a troll and I'd like just I did it was just a great excuse to beat |
3:58.8 | the crap out of my little brothers but then I'd let them kind of win at the end right but we're |
4:03.3 | so video game-wide we'd be like all right I'll let you guys level up and they're little so |
4:07.0 | they're like we level up dude yeah you're stronger now cool all right let's get back to me |
4:13.5 | beating you up. |
4:14.4 | Yeah, right. |
4:15.3 | But, like, this is a lot less weird than doing that, so I'm glad D&D gave us that outlet. |
4:19.7 | It did, it did. |
4:20.8 | But, all right, so thank you for those five-star reviews. |
