I used to work occasionally with a family member to earn a bit of pocket money.

During breaks, I would secretly go outside to smoke a cigarette.

The employees of the neighboring businesses would come out at the same time,

and there was this man, around 45 years old, who often smoked at the same time as me.

We made small talk about customers, the weather, and mall gossip. Nothing special. One day he told

me he had just moved in near my place. He knew where my family lived

because they were on good terms. He said he was throwing a housewarming party and had invited

everyone from both workplaces. It was supposed to be a big party, and he told me to come.

At that age, I was incredibly naive. I loved to go out

because I felt deeply lonely and sad. I had never had a boyfriend at that point, and life was

pretty boring for me, so any excuse to escape home felt good. So on the day of the party, I went over to his place and rang the doorbell.

He opened the door to let me in, and immediately after, locked the door behind me. The door

locked with a key from the inside, and he put the key into his underwear. I looked around

quickly and realized something was wrong.

There was nobody else there.

I asked him where everybody was.

He said they had already come earlier and left.

I reminded him that he told me the party started at two.

He then repeated himself and mumbled something
