Summary

From the banks of the Ganga in Rishikesh, this pilgrim Q&A with Raghunath and Kaustubha explores how to respond to visible suffering without emotional collapse, how being "more tolerant than a tree" coexists with healthy boundaries, and how to start a simple, welcoming satsang at home. They also respond to questions about balancing the eagerness to advance with patience, perspective, and the value of living and serving in the moment.

I don't know. It seems like I woke up 40 times a night. Every time I wake up, I've had an

0:04.1

incredible vivid dream. So even just last night, if I could, if I had 40 dreams, each dream

0:09.9

had a different, very loud emotion, like fear, sadness, happy, rejoice, wonder. It was all like very

0:17.4

real. And when I wake up, I can't remember any of it

0:21.4

because they're dreams, they're temporary.

0:23.6

They evoked a heartbeat, a racing heartbeat,

0:26.8

or a joyous feeling of the mind or a relaxation.

0:31.0

But it was all actually unreal because it was temporary.

0:35.9

In the same way, this life life as long as it seems is actually

0:40.1

quite short like when you walk by a cemetery all those people have very significant lives but in

0:46.4

one sense they're actually insignificant we don't even think about them anymore we don't think about

0:50.4

the family of gravestones next to each other and what they went through. It's all like a bubble in the ocean.

0:57.1

At the same time, for millennia, for thousands of years, it's almost like it's a dream of

1:02.6

Brahma, like in Brahma's lifetime.

1:06.0

And of course, that's all within a moment of Lord Vishnu's.

1:11.6

So our lifetime, even if I was to live,

1:13.8

I mean, I've had ups and downs in my life.

1:15.6

I've had great joy and great pain.

1:17.7

But even if my life was born into pain

1:20.1

and I die in pain

1:22.3

and I live till I'm 100,

1:25.3

it's still a bubble in the ocean.
