0:38.4	So when I see cases of perpetrators wear, an incident's been reported to police,
0:44.1	where it's been recorded, where there's been a prosecution of some sorts,
0:48.7	that is very often the tip of an iceberg,
0:51.8	because there's so much domestic abuse that is never even reported to the police.
0:56.8	So when somebody does come onto the radar of the criminal justice system,
1:00.8	that suggests to me that they are the kind of individual who has a pattern of abusive behaviour.
1:07.7	This is a course of conduct which has probably been going on for quite some time,
1:12.2	because that's the thing that I always find with domestic abuse.
1:16.5	There's no such thing as an isolated incident,
1:19.4	because this kind of behaviour draws on a particular set of values.
1:23.9	It draws on how a perpetrator thinks and feels about women,
1:28.8	who women are, how they should behave, what they're there for,
1:32.1	and it's that value system that underpins the behaviour.
