Listen, last week was rough and I had an episode planned that would be rough adjacent but kind of inspiring.

However, my research assistant Kate worked hard as hell on this episode and it is a very timely one as the subject of today's case is getting an early release from prison.

And this is also a story I knew well and I think a lot of true crime folks like me did but it is also a very tragic and nuanced story.

But I do think that Kate did a hell of a job writing it so we are going to go back into dark territory this week.

But I'd say dark and interesting territory.
