Isaiah chapter 57, verse 21.

There is no peace, says my God, for the wicked.

Just a simple verse, simple sentence that summarizes a hugely significant truth. There is no peace for the wicked.

I would encourage you just to memorize that today. It's obviously very short, easy to memorize.

Just hear it and kind of say it over and over and over again today. The Bible teaches Isaiah 5721. There is no peace for the wicked.

There is no peace for the wicked. There is no peace for the wicked. And as you memorize it,

just meditate on it. Let that soak in. As you think about your own life. So don't immediately

think about wickedness and others around you.

So think about the tendency toward wickedness in our own hearts,

the tendency toward turning away from the goodness of God,

toward doing things our own ways,

toward directly disobeying God's word,

or just not doing things that God's word says to do and we we stop short of

doing those things so there's tendencies toward wickedness in all of our hearts and that is not the path

to peace that's the path to unrest before God unrest in our own hearts peace with God is found in obedience to God Peace with God is found in obedience to God.

Peace with God is found in holiness before God.

If we want peace in our hearts, which I know we all want,

every one of us wants peace in our hearts.

The path to peace is obedience and righteousness before God.

And so no, whenever we turn from God towards sin in our lives,

we're turning away from peace toward unrest.
