Alright, so previously on the podcast, we looked at the action at the last battle of the

seven days campaign, the Battle of Malvern Hill.

And we'd said that Malvern Hill was one of the most misunderstood battles of the Civil

War.

And we said that since there seems to be the notion that Robert E. Lee simply decided

to line up his army and sent the poor Confederate infantry charging uphill over half a mile

of open ground into the teeth of a vast host of federal artillery, which was a raid

wheel to wheel on Malvern Hill.

But we wanted to spend quite a bit of time showing that what happened at Malvern Hill

wasn't quite that clear cut.

We wanted to show that it was really a confusion of circumstances on the Confederate side that
