And it's spring marathon season right now. Mark from the Running Channel is training to try and smash his personal best at the London Marathon using the Wahoo Kicker Run in the office, much to our annoyance sometimes actually. He does so many runs, but that's why the Wahoo Kicker Run is so useful to be there convenient for when he's doing double days. double days when he's doing uphill inc incline walks it's fascinating to see his preparation to essentially try and beat you and go sub 250 yeah it's a little bit rude and it's going to mean i'm probably going to have to run another marathon i also use the wahu kicker run to train for my marathon in valencia and mark actually used it to simulate parts of the under marathon course by uploading the gpx file so that you can follow the exact ups and downs of the profile of the course so it'll automatically adjust for you and actually

feels like running on asphalt or hard pack trails so it does really simulate running outside the level

of detail is amazing if you want to check out the wahu kick a run then head to wahu fitness

Yeah, it's been so good for you because I don't think you knew where to start. And also, it's so flexible as well. There are lots of new features from Runner. So if you want to

Welcome to the Running Channel podcast live from the London Marathon 2026. Great crowd. Got the crowd in, got the crowd in. Nice. We're really excited to be here at the Running Channel Clubhouse for the fourth year in a row at the London Marathon. It's really exciting. We've got some cool stuff to talk about today. And somehow Rick gets younger every single year. I've paid big bucks for this today. And much like many... Much for the Rouge though. Like many episodes of the podcast, this is going to be about Rick mainly. No, it's not, mate. Honestly. Well, it always ends up being somehow.

2:18.1

But I am actually running the marathons. So surely it should have an element of that.

2:21.7

Well, we're going to talk about how to enjoy marathons. That's going to be the main topic today. Mark's coming in. Yeah, we've got lots of exciting things. Lots of people in the running channel office, also you have run marathons this time of year. So we want to talk about the fact that marathons are hard.

2:34.7

They're hard to get through them. And we want to talk about the fact that marathons are hard.

2:34.8

They're hard to get through them.

2:36.2

And we want to talk about how you can enjoy them and work hard too.

2:40.7

And yes, you're running this year.

2:43.5

He's hardly talked about it at all.

2:45.0

I can't actually quite believe it that I've given into this.

2:48.4

But no, but like to say something nice, you've worked incredibly hard for this, for you. There was going to be something. No, no, but you're someone who, you know, we've spent a lot of time together, not just doing the podcast, but we're friends. We've been to one another's weddings. We have our children get together. So I'm really excited to see how you do on Sunday. And there's no, there's no but here. That's my sincere. Well, I mean Sarah would like to thank you for, you know, not getting rid of us in favor of Aubrey and Jess, which apparently was a go of a rumor going around. Probably they're really good in Boston. So this is, well, this is the longest intro we've ever done on done on the podcast but yeah I made a nice comment to just say I've been out in Boston Marathon which we're also going to talk about and what a great job Jess and Aubrey did but that you two took that as the fact that you were getting you're getting good yeah it's been lovely thank you so much for having us yeah we've got big up mark who's to come in as well and talk about Project 3 and how he is going to try and run a sub 250 marathon, but not only for Puma and Project 3, just so he can beat Andy Badley's marathon time.

3:53.6

There's also another fast time in the running channel office as well, which has reset the goal post for Mark as well.
