Jimmy Kolb takes a seat in this 166th podcast episode of Dave Tate's Table Talk.

Jimmy Kolb is a drug-free, equipped bench specialist—the first and only person to bench 1200 and 1300 pounds and hold 11 competitive 1000+ pound benches in the last two years. A marine corps veteran, Jimmy benched his first 1000-pound poly bench while still on active duty.

He was awarded the Baddest Bencher and WPO Bench Bash Winner in 2022.

Jimmy is the owner of Kolbstrong Power, where he offers online and in-house custom bench programming. He cofounded Kolbstrong Scholarship—a 501c3 non-profit that financially helps teenage and junior athletes.

Here are his impressive feats of strength to date:

-Last person to bench 1000lbs+ in a poly shirt

-First ( and currently only) person to bench 1100lbs in a single ply poly shirt

-Benched 740lbs as a teenager (at that time that was the second heaviest teenage bench in history)

-2410 Multiply in 220 at 20 years old (still stands as the heaviest multiply total for 220 JR)

-Currently hold six ACTIVE All Time World Records for equipped bench across 4 weight classes:

 242 : Singly Ply : 903lbs

 242 : Multiply : 950lbs

 275 : Multiply : 1035lbs

 308 : Single Ply: 1120lbs

 SHW : Single Ply 1060lbs

0:55.0

So there's a history there.

0:56.0

So there's over a decade of accomplishments.

0:59.0

I'm trying to limit the introductions because we can go through all these different accolades.

1:05.0

You have six, is that right, all-time bench records?

1:08.0

Current standing, yes.

1:09.0

Yes, and currently have the biggest lift of any lift done in power lifting. Also correct. Which is 13. I don't want to look. I'm going to test myself. 1320. Yes, that's right. But why do I want to say 1360? That's a good question. It's a cooler number. I'm already bored of 1320. It's time to move on. What did you try in the last meet? I tried 1400 twice. Okay. Yeah. All right. You want to know a backstory about that? Please. Did you ever tell you anything? No, no. Interesting. Okay. We're going to have some fun. Oh, shit. All right. So it was a Saturday, I believe, right? Was that Saturday? It was a Saturday. So it's a squat day, which take forever out here.
