spanned the spectrum from confirming inevitabilities to completely up-ending

expectations, but they each have lessons for politics in the U.S.

Now just a quick note before we get started, once again, I have more thoughts on the current

state of politics in the US in the wake of the attack on Donald Trump at his rally in Pennsylvania,

but I will save the comments for the editor to come in the release of the exit poll.

Now, the most shocking thing to note in the exit poll here was the number of expected

reform seats. The exit poll predicted that reform would get 13 seats, significantly higher than most of the

MRP polls in the one up to the election. However, there were some wobbles

through the night, with some polls suggesting that the exit poll had

overestimated the number of seats.
