Welcome to the show, ladies.

So this election season and the months preceding it has focused a fair bit on issues of identity and belonging.

The GOP nominee and general shit show, Donald Trump, has made issues around immigration,

or shall we say, explosions of racist rhetoric and xenophobia, a central part of his campaign

at the same time that Black Lives Matter and other progressive activist groups are changing

the way many people think about race.

But as always, there are numerous citizens part of specific and often ignored cultural and ethnic groups who have been left out of our national conversations about race as they pertained not just to politics but to culture.

That's why we decided to devote this week's show to the concerns and political and cultural contexts around Asian Americans.
