On June 12, 1977, approximately 130 young girl scouts from all over the Tulsa area gathered

at the Girl Scouts headquarters in Tulsa.

The group boarded buses, Destin and Fern, annual week-long trip to Camp Scott.

The camp is located near the Oklahoma town of Locust Grove about 50 miles from Tulsa.

The Girl Scouts had operated Camp Scott since 1928.

The camp sat on 410 thick wooded acres.

The scouts were separated into small groups by age, then he just signed their own areas

across the camp.

Each of these areas were named after Native American tribes.

The Kayawalk Camp was located at the end of the horseshoe figureation, furthest from the

councillors tent, but closest to the bathrooms.

Those of the thick woods, seeing the tents next to you, was very difficult.

Staying in 107 was 10-year-old Doris Denise Milner, a native of Tulsa.

This visit would be her first to camp Scott.
