Hi, this is Alonzo Bowden, and I want to welcome you to episode 163 of my podcast, who's paying attention. Let me go on record

as saying I am tired of talking about Donald Trump. I would rather not talk about Donald

Trump. I would honestly rather talk to you about a Kardashian than Donald Trump. But with Kim Kardashian being retired,

not sure what she did, but whatever it is, she seems to be on hiatus from it, there's nothing else.

There is no escape. We have no choice. I hope it's not for the next four years, but more than likely

for the next four years, in some way, shape, or form, I'm going to have to talk about Donald Trump.

So let's get started with the Taiwan call.

Donald Trump talked to the president of Taiwan for about 10 minutes.

We don't necessarily know what was said. We know that China has lodged a formal protest and that a U.S. president hasn't spoken to a Taiwan leader since

1979. Now, Donald Trump, in Twitter, because that's the only way he communicates his tweets, says that the president of Taiwan called me.

He capitalized, called me today to wish me congratulations on winning the presidency.

And then he tweeted, interesting how the U.S. sells Taiwan billions of dollars of military

equipment, but I should not accept a congratulatory call.

Okay, so right away, the leadership of Taiwan said that that's not true, saying the call had been arranged in advance and put, of course,

both sides agreed to the call ahead of time, which seems a bit more believable to me and

to most reasonable people.

Now, Trump calls Taiwan, which is an insult to China, which can piss China off. And it's very interesting

what people say about it. Okay. The White House said that it was not notified about the call.

Well, of course not. So analysts seem to be split some say that trump is clueless

and has no advisors to help him navigate the intricacies of foreign policy and others say it should

be seen as more of what's in store if when Trump takes office, not if,

when Trump takes office.
