Her killing sparked protests all across the country, beginning in the Kurdish

areas and now spreading everywhere. Barry's going to go into detail about what's happening there.

So Barry firstly can you kind of

I think it would be best to explain the situation

what happened to Gina you know the morality police she got attacked and like very

sadly she died maybe you can just kind of go over all of that what actually happened to her in the first place before these these these riots started

Gina was a young woman from Sqras, a Kurdish city in Iran.

She went on a trip to Tehran with her family.

And actually, it is said that her younger brother already said should we actually take

Gina you know we're not really from there kind of feeling uncomfortable with his sister being in Tehran where other rules apply

and other rules apply to minorities visiting, definitely.

So as everyone has probably heard,

Gina was captured by the morality police in Tehran, which is kind of a regular thing for them to roam around the city and gather women, put them on a van and punish them for not wearing their clothes properly according to their standards.

I think a lot of people almost think it's a joke when they hear you know morality police I mean to be

honest I've been putting it kind of like quotation marks because the idea that
