1979 June, a band called The Dead Kennedy's makes its debut with a single

called California Uber Alice, actually taking a lot of shots at Jerry Brown. He was too liberal.

They were complaining that he was imposing liberal fascism on the state,

pretty ironic given its current governor, but what a way to say hello San Francisco.
