Hello everyone and welcome to the History of England episode 162, the Return of York.

Now then, I think this is my third episode on 1450 and it was in Sooth a seriously busy

year.

Normandy has fallen to the French.

Suffix Plus's head and ended up on a beach.

There's been a people's revolt.

And Somerset, the guy that lost Normandy, has been made Constable of England in reward

for his incompetence.

Surely, there could be no more.

Surely, it was time for the body politic to put up their collective feet and reach for

a good book.

Well, let me take you to Ireland.

Where a chap called Richard of York was brooding, possibly gnawing angrily on his thumb.

The introduction of Richard of York means it's time for me to fess up.

Since reading the Ladybird, Adventure from History book about Warwick the Kingmaker as

a lad, I have been a committed Yorkist.

Don't ask me why?

It's just the way it is and I accept it is probably time to put away those childish things.

But old lollipotus die hard.

So now you know my bias.

When you're a twelve-year-old you or maybe I mean I tend to accept things at face value.
