Summary

For pretty much every child, going to the movie theater is a rite of passage. The thing is, the nature of that rite hinges mightily on when and where you grew up. For we The Brothers Moriarty, our formidable movie theater experiences were on Long Island in the '70s, '80s, and '90s, and it's from there that we can draw many memorable, funny, and resonant stories. Our pre-movie rituals. What snacks to eat. Getting rides to and fro. Meeting girls (or boys!). Playing in the arcade. Seeing flicks you weren't supposed to. The saga truly goes on and on. Today's episode of KnockBack -- voted on by the audience -- is dedicated to our favorite cinematic stories. Not on the screen, of course, but our stories of visiting them, instead. 0:44.0

They can't. It's so fascinating. When I used to go to like E3 productions,

0:48.1

when it was like proper production companies doing shit, you had like an earpiece and

0:51.4

and stuff, they would do stuff like that. And I'm like, why? I used to want to laugh

0:54.5

because I'm like, all right, you're back in three, two. And then it's like,

it's just everything's just waiting for you to do something. It's just all dead silent.

1:03.6

You know, and you're just staring at the camera. That's got to be nerve-wracking.

1:07.6

Yeah, I used to say that I would just start playing a version of myself, you know?

1:11.9

Like you have to be, I would never, I don't prepare for interviews, which my audience knows

1:15.5

famously, I do not prepare for interviews, like by design. I know what I'm gonna,

1:19.6

I know who the person is and what they did, but I don't go like, you know, I'm gonna ask you this

1:22.9

and then this, I so I just walk on the set and there's, you know,

1:25.8

Phil Spencer, something like that from Xbox. I'm like, all right, we're gonna talk about Xbox

1:28.7

for 15 minutes and we'll see what happens. I like it. Yeah, and then it always works out
