I want to tell you a little story about how this episode came to be.

Last February, a book called Toxic Positive

had its book birthday the same day as raising critical thinkers, my book. In fact, it was also

published by Tarture Paragi, my publisher. I loved the title so I investigated further.

It turns out Whitney Goodman, the author, is also a psychotherapist with a wonderful

Instagram account called Sit With Witt. with a to recover from their childhood pains and traumas. I interviewed Whitney in May. You can

listen to that episode, season 8, episode 15, to catch up if you like. In the last couple of months though,

Whitney has zeroed in on the challenge of creating healthy relationships

between adult kids and their parents.

Meanwhile, I've been chatting away with my adult friends who've been asking me for advice about how to relate to their millennial

and Gen Z adult kids who are setting boundaries and

communicating their pain. Everybody wants connection but it seems we aren't

sure how to get it.

I realized that Whitney and I could represent these two different generations

and discuss how to heal pain and foster connection.
