with Chapter 24. Welcome to the Bible Study podcast. I'm your host, Chris Christensen. We're

wrapping up this book rapidly. Today, Paul goes on trial.

He has already been on trial before the Sanhedron or had a chance to explain himself before the

Sanhedron, but today he goes on one of the two trials before the Roman governor. The first trial is

before the Roman governor, Felix. Five days later, the high priest high priest Ananias went down to Caesarea with some of the elders and a lawyer named Turtelus, and they brought their charges against Paul before the governor.

When Paul was called in, Turtelus presented his case before Felix.

We have enjoyed a long period of peace under you, and your foresight

has brought about reforms in this nation. Everywhere, and in every way, most excellent Felix,

we acknowledge this with profound gratitude, but in order not to weary you further, I will request

that you be kind enough to hear us briefly. We have found this man to be a

troublemaker stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the

Nazarean sect, and even tried to desecrate the temple, so he seized him. By examining him yourself,

you will be able to learn the truth about all these charges we are bringing against him.

The Jews joined in the accusation asserting that these things were true.

And so Paul is on trial before Felix.

You get the lawyer here who comes and says, the kind of thing you want to argue before a Roman governor.

Troublemaker, peace breaker, riots.

Those are the key words that you'd want to use because the Roman governor is going to be judged

if those things are going on his province.

So you, Felix, you wonderful Felix, and what a wonderful job you've done.

And unlike this person, you've brought reforms job you've done. And unlike this person,
